MR Injectable Wrinkle Treatment
What are anti-wrinkle treatments?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are used to reduce lines and wrinkles that form in the upper face.
They contain a protein that causes the injected facial muscle to relax, smoothing out lines and wrinkles in the area.
How do MR Injectable Wrinkle Treatments Work?
MR injectable wrinkle treatments work by blocking the impulses from the nerves that control muscle movement. When injected into muscle tissue, a muscle relaxation results after about three days and the muscles can not contract, creating a smooth rejuvenated appearance of the overlying skin.
This effect can last anywhere from three to eight month or when used for the treatment of dynamic facial lines, the effect typically last for about ten to twelve weeks.
What facial wrinkle areas can be treated?
Anti-wrinkle treatments help to reduce excessive movement of underlying muscles. Lines and wrinkles from sagging skin will not be improved by treatment with a injectable wrinkle treatment. The most commonly treated areas include:
Frown lines or worry lines between the eyebrows;
“Surprise” or forehead lines;
Crows feet or “laugh lines”;
In these areas, excessive contraction of the muscles below the skin cause it to wrinkle and eventually “crease”. “Crease” lines on the skin that do not disappear when stretched out will be improved, but not completely removed by the injectable wrinkle treatment and may need treatment by other methods.
Non surgical eyebrow lift;
How quickly will I see results?
With anti-wrinkle injections, expect to see initial results 1 to 2 days following treatment, with the full effects visible at between 7 and 14 days.
How long will the results last?
The effects of anti-wrinkle treatments usually last up to four months. If you have regular anti-wrinkle treatments, the effects may last longer.
Anti-wrinkle injections relax only the muscles beneath the lines where product has been injected, and the muscles responsible for other aspects of your facial expression stay active.
If you have no further treatments, the muscles return to normal and lines gradually go back to how they looked before treatment.
What does the injection process involve?
Small quantities of muscle relaxing wrinkle treatment are injected into the muscle to be treated using a tiny needle similar to an acupuncture needle. Several tiny injections, approximately five to ten per area, are made.
The discomfort is minimal and no anaesthetic is required, although a cold pack may sometimes be applied prior to the injections.
Are there any side effects?
Anti-wrinkle injections are usually well tolerated, however, as with all medications, side effects can occur.
Possible side effects include pain, burning or stinging; bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site; local muscle weakness including drooping eyelids or eyebrows; swollen eyelids and skin tightness; tingling sensations, itching or aching forehead; headaches, nausea and flu-like symptoms.
Who should not have anti-wrinkle treatment?
Patients with neuromuscular disorders should not be treated. Minimal side effects from MR injectable wrinkle treatment have also been reported by pregnant or nursing women who have been inadvertently treated.
Is there any downtime?
There is very little downtime with anti-wrinkle injections.
The average treatment session lasts about 10 minutes and you can return to your day-to-day activities straight away.
