What is my work time as a staff of JED?

We resume work at 9am and close for 5 pm. We work Monday to Fridays

What disciplinary measures can be appled to me if I don't come to work early?

Management has agreed that when staff comes to work late, a prorated amount would be deducted from their salary for that month

Do I get paid if I don't come tom work due to ill health?

You only get paid if you have been granted an official sick off by your employer.

Am I entitled to commissions for students I refer?

The company offers an incentive of 150,000 Naira for recommended students who would study in any of our UK partner institutions. But if a student is recommended to study in any other country, the management would agree with you on the incentive due to you.

What happens if I am insulted or assaulted by any staff in the company?

Every staff at Jokings Educare MUST be well disciplined and portray good conduct. No one has the right to insult or assault any staff. We must all treat each other with respect. Write a complaint letter to your boss if this continues or complete the complaint form.

Can I use my social media account while in the office?

It is against company policy for you to make use of your social media account while at work. You are only permitted to do so if you intend to publish any marketing information on your page relating to the company's marketing. Staff is entitled to indoor break time and can feel free to use their social media account

How long is my break time?

You are entitled to a one-hour indoor break time daily. That is the reason we are providing lunch for you. If there be any reason for a staff to leave the office you MUST discuss or seek permission from your employer

Can I set up my own education agency while working with Jokings Educare?

A staff cannot operate the same kind of business we do while working with us. A staff can give us 12 months notice of their intention to set up such business and by then such staff should have put down their resignation. Check Note 17 of contract agreement

Are there any allowance paid to me if I work during the holiday?

At Jokings Educare we are happy to grant allowances for staff who work over the weekend or bank holiday. This would be agreed with your employer.

How many days notice am I supposed to give to my employer when I fall ill?

In this case, no one predicts when they will fall ill, but you are expected to notify your employer as quickly as possible. Once you notice that due to ill health, you will not be able to come to work, you have to inform your employer by text or call

How many days off sick can I get?

An employee can get a maximum of 2 days off sick. This must be approved officially. But in some cases where the employee is admitted in the hospital then, management would grant such number of days

Can I change my bank account details for salary purposes?

You are free to change your bank account as long as you inform us early before pay day

10.

Are there other incentives a staff can get?

Incentives are agreed with the staff at the beginning of their employment. This is not mandatory. Any form of incentive is offered to you by management.

Can I use my personal phone during work hours?

It is against company policy to make personal calls or messages during work time. You are entitled to an indoor break time of one hour and can make your calls or send a personal text.

14.

Can I personally charge a student or collect money from a client?

No staff is allowed to charge or accept money from a student except when authorised. We have agreed method of clients making payment and no staff is permitted to charge a student

16.

Can my staff or family member set up the same nature of business like Jokings Educare while I still work there?

There would be a conflict of interest and such staff shouyld give notice to the employer if such occurs. And as such this mean the staff would have to resign from their position
