Education and Sport Performance Development in Majorca

Loughborough College, in partnership with the Best Centre are providing a vocational educational and sporting offer in Colonia Sant Jordi, Majorca. This is for students aged 16 and over.


Students will have the opportunity to study a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport over 2 years. This is equivalent to three “A” Levels. There is also the opportunity of studying a 90 credit Diploma in Sport over one year, which is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels. Loughborough College has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its sports provision.


Students who successfully pass the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport will be guaranteed a place on any sport degree programme offered at Loughborough College. Learners could progress on to Sport Science, Sports Coaching or Sports Therapy degree programmes validated by Loughborough University

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport allows students to progress to universities in Spain, UK, USA, Canada and anywhere around Europe. It may be that the students want to pursue a different career pathway and the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport will allow the student to do that. Past students have also gone on to study Psychology, Criminology, Primary Education, Business, Marketing, Policing, Nursing as examples.


There is a comprehensive sports training programme in swimming or triathlon for students of all abilities who want to develop their sporting potential. Students will benefit from the facilities and expert coaching provided by the Best Centre. Over 70 international athletes have trained at the Best Centre from countries including UK, Canada and Germany.


Entry requirements are the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above plus IELTs 4.5.

ACCOMMODATION Accommodation and food are provided in a standalone facility within walking distance of the classroom and sporting facilities. Rooms are shared but with individual space. There is a room, outside space and communal kitchen facilities available. Colonia Sant Jordi is a quiet, safe town with lots of local amenities. The beach and views are among the best on the island. There is a bus service that connects Colonia Sant Jordi to the major towns in Mallorca, such as Palma, Manacor and Alcudia.

FEES The total fee is 27,500 euros broken down as follows: 9,500 euros education, 12,000 euros accommodation and food, 6000 euros sporting offer. In the first year, all students are being offered a 30% scholarship which takes the fee down to 19,250 euros. Loughborough College will receive a payment of £6255 for the education tuition fees. 25% commission will be paid on this tuition fee.
