  • CITY: The university is located in Portsmouth, a port city in Hampshire on the South coast of England and it is UK’s only island city. The city is nicknamed Pompey and the reason for this is widely disputed. It is the only city in the UK with a population density greater than that of London. There are lots of student jobs in this city in retail, healthcare, hospitality, customer service, cleaning, and warehouse. These roles are student friendly, accommodating the 20hr per week work limit.

  • BRIEF: The university has an international student population of about 27%. Students in this university are informed by professionals who work with business and industry. In addition, most students study on courses which are accredited or validated by professional organisations, and many more of their degree offers an accelerated route to qualifying with a profession or obtaining chartered status. Over 60% of research submitted by the University to REF2014 was rated as world-leading and internationally excellent. In two subject areas respectively - Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, and Physics - 90% and 89% of all research submitted was rated as world leading and internationally excellent.
